NEW TRADITION BEGINS - FIRST SENIOR HONOR NIGHT CALLED A SUCCESS

Villanova, PA - The first ever Senior Honor Night and football alumni gathering was deemed an unqualified success by all who attended. In all, 100 + former players and coaches came back to share with each other and to honor and welcome into their midst 13 championship  seniors. And because the Hall of Fame dinner, scheduled the next evening, had so many  football inductees( Coach Mayock, Mark Mayock '81, The 1961 Inter-Ac Championship team, Dave Stilley '96, and Peter Lindquist '73), it seemed the perfect time to institute  a long over-due new "tradition".

The March 4 event featured guest speakers from Haverford's rich history of players and coaches.
The event was inspired by the Fords first solo Inter-Ac championship in 39 years and was hatched in a
December dinner meeting when Coach Murphy seized upon the idea.**

"The sun never sets on tradition"

Preview the 2011 Fightin' Fords as they take on Radnor in a non-contact skirmish, marking the end of their Spring Mini-Camp and the start of summer break. This is as close as it gets to having a Spring game very much like your favorite university might host ( OK, not that big or elaborate!) But this will be an informal blast to kick off the the first official week of summer.


We'll set up the tent and serve ribs, doggies, burgers, summer salads, and wash it all down with suds, soda & vino while we watch some football. Hosted by The Cannon Club.

This is a fund-raiser for the team to help send the boys to a week-long team Camp @ West Chester University. There will be a drawing with a cash prize winner ( need not be present) and Haverford logo'd "Spirit Gear" will be awarded also.

Even if you will be away on vacation or otherwise, your support of the boys will be much appreciated.
